I have a Canon SX30IS and I get a green horizontal line across the top of my pictures. But here's the weird thing - if I take a picture vertically, the line isn't there. I don't get it.

I also have a sony cyber shot DSC-P10 that has lines going through the pictures and through the video.
I have had my camera about five years though so Im not to upset. I just wanted to let you know I have the same problem. I was hopeing it was one of the settings causeing it. Thinking now its the sencer.
Crazy thing it dosent do it all the time. I Paid around five hundrad dollers for mine five years ago and you can get a better camera with higher pixels and HD Video for half the price. Which is really cool how the prices have gone down. Good luck to everyone. Renee

Same here on my DSC-H50, but I don't think it's a firmware issue. I don't see many posts about it for sony cameras, but if you look for "blue line" on monitors/tv's it happens a lot. Some people report having the "board" replaced on their TV to fix the problem, so Sony would probably replace something similar on the camera if we paid them. I'm not sure I want to pay almost $200 for a $400 camera, though I've loved using it.
Undecided but open to suggestions.

I have the exact same problem, regarding the ”blue line” as all of you describe. My camera is a DSC-H50. Is there anyone that has found a valid firmware update?

actually, dogs, I have the same problem with a Fuji...it has probably ruined every photo I took on vacation, and I am just losing sleep over the issue. What am I going to do!!!? Do I have to photoshop every picture that I took of the beautiful sandy beaches!!! I have spent 8-10 hours per day on the phone with Fuji, and they just laugh and laugh at me until I start to cry!!! They are making fun of me!!! It's not fair!! My camera is 3 years old on May 24th (big celebration WAS scheduled), but I guess I will have to cancel. What am I going to do!!!? Oh this is such a tragedy!!!!

I have a Sony DSC H50 and just recently noticed the same blue line,...its there in all shooting modes it stickes out more in ISO mode. Sony would be happy to repair the camera for $171.00.... I have sworn off Sony products for life after the last 2 i have purchased from them

I just noticed it on my Sony H50 in the EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE. It only seems to show up when I shoot in the ISO mode and it is on EVERY FRAME when I shoot that way. I've had my camera for over a year and this is really bugging me. Why no fix?

I bought a Vivitar 8300S several years ago. Almost within the first month of taking pictures, I noticed a very thin blue vertical line extending down my pictures. Most of the darker shots that I took really made the vertical line more visible. The vertical line was left of center or 1/4 from the left side facing in on my pictures. I am sure the camera came defective from the factory. Vivitar is not known for quality, but this particular camera I liked.

I have still have not figured out what the exact technical problem is. I would like to know if it is actually the sensor or some other electronic anomaly. I own other digital cameras and never had a similar problem.
